Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Commute Pulse (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you don’t, don’t use the service.

What the service is

Commute Pulse estimates how long a drive will take at different times, shows how those times move across a week, and can alert you when it’s time to leave. Everything it shows is an estimate built from traffic data supplied by third parties.

Estimates are not promises

Traffic is not predictable, and neither is an estimate of it. Crashes, weather, closures, stale data and plain error will all make the app wrong sometimes. Don’t rely on Commute Pulse for anything where being late has serious consequences — a flight, a hospital appointment, a court date. Leave margin of your own.

Nothing in the app is a driving instruction. Obey traffic laws and road conditions, and don’t interact with the app while driving.

Your account

  • You need an account, and you're responsible for what happens under it. Keep your sign-in secure.
  • Give us an email address you actually use — it's how we reach you about the service.
  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires it) to use Commute Pulse.
  • One account per person. Don't share credentials.

What you may not do

  • Scrape, resell, redistribute or cache the traffic and mapping data the app shows you, or use it to build a competing dataset.
  • Hammer the service with automated requests, or work around plan limits, rate limits or paywalls.
  • Reverse engineer the app, or probe, disrupt or attack the service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the service to break the law, or to track or profile someone without their knowledge.

Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • The free trial runs for the period stated in the app and needs no card. When it ends, paid features lock until you subscribe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated price until cancelled, and we charge at the start of each period.
  • Cancel any time. On iOS and Android, manage or cancel the subscription through your App Store or Google Play account — we can't cancel a store subscription for you. Subscriptions bought on the web are managed through the payment link in the app.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Prices can change. We'll tell you before a change affects a renewal, and you can cancel instead.
  • Refunds for purchases made through an app store are handled by that store under its own policy.

Third-party data

Routes and places come from Google Maps Platform. Your use of those parts of the app is also subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We don’t control that data and can’t vouch for its accuracy.

Your content

The addresses, commutes and alarms you enter stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you — to store that data, send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and show it back to you.

Changes to the service

We add, change and remove features. If we retire something you rely on, or change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll give you reasonable notice in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account; it erases your data immediately and cannot be undone. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other users at risk. If we close your account without cause, we’ll refund the unused part of any period you’ve paid for.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be correct.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost time, missed appointments, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as that jurisdiction permits — and nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you live somewhere whose consumer law gives you rights that can’t be overridden by contract, those rights still apply.
